Reece Profile PicI got into racing MTB’s through my parents, especially my dad, who were and still are keen racers and volunteers within the mountainbiking community. I started out in the local BMX scene up in Lesmurdie at the tender age of 6 where I also started playing soccer but worked out ball sports aren’t for me as much as two wheels which was when I graduated to MTBing. Mountainbiking brings a sense of freedom and excitement with it and allows you to experience parts of the world otherwise inaccessible and it is for this reason that I ride. Outside of training time, racing time, recovery time and meal time I like to watch motorsport and go surfing as I think the ocean is the most powerful and majestic thing on the planet. In 2014 I competed on the world scene as an U19 athlete and had some good results placing 13th and 12th at the two Junior World Series races held in conjunction with the Czech and German World Cup. In 2015 I am embarking on another O/S trip where I will be chasing the back half of the World Cup circuit along with a few other Trek Racing Australia riders. I look up to a lot of people for different aspects of motivation and aspirations and to name just one person would be a bit transparent. I would like to achieve an XCO World Championship sometime in the future and also riding the Tour de France would be another goal for later on in life but for now, ride on!

For myself over in Western Australia the team offers a strong base and connection on the opposite side of the country to offer the support required to become the best athlete that you can be. I look forward to spending a great season with the supportive, cooperative and humorous team members and team staff that make up the Trek Racing Australia Team.
